Kathleen graduated with honors from San Francisco State University with her undergraduate degree as a bachelor's prepared Registered
Nurse (RN). She worked for 12 years as an RN on the Oncology floor at John Muir Medical Center, where she had additional
specialization as a chemotherapy and transplant certified nurse, apheresis nurse, charge nurse and preceptor for nursing
students and new nursing graduates. During this time she taught breast self examination for Hadassah, co-facilitated the
American Cancer Society (ACS) sponsored "I Can Cope" support group and volunteered with ACS's "Look Good Feel Better".
Kathleen completed her master's level preparation as a Nurse Practitioner and graduated in 2001 with honors and
distinction from the University of California, San Francisco. Since graduation Kathleen has pursued additional
studies in Cancer Risk Assessment, coordination of the practice's clinical trials and precepting Nurse Practitioner
students. She enjoys volunteering in the community with the Wellness Community, mentoring teens and at her children's school.
joined Contra Costa Oncology in 2008. She is a nationally certified adult nurse practitioner who graduated from UC San Francisco's Master's
program in nursing. She, also, holds bachelor's degrees in psychology/sociology and nursing. All degrees were conferred with
honors and distinction. Her background includes many years of experience at Stanford University Hospital in primary care,
trauma, intensive care, and cardiology. She has coordinated clinical medical research in both interventional cardiology
and interventional radiology. In her spare time she volunteers as a health educator and as health care provider with the breast
cancer walk. She enjoys spending time with her family, music, and outdoor activities such as running, cycling, hiking, skiing, and swimming.
