Board certified in internal medicine, hematology, and oncology, attended Bronx High School of Science,
New York University, and Chicago Medical School, and completed his internship, residency, and fellowship at Cook County Hospital in
Chicago.
After spending two years in the Public Health Service and voted Outstanding Senior Staff Physician, Dr. Ben-Zeev started
his private practice in Walnut Creek in 1968. Serving as Chief of Medicine on two occasions at John Muir Medical Center and as the
first Co-Director of Oncololgy and Chief of the Oncology and Hematology Department, he was also instrumental in establishing oncology
as a sub-specialty.
Dr. Ben-Zeev founded the Radiation Oncology Center at John Muir Medical Center, and was instrumental in the
initiation of specialty tumor boards and patient services. Dr. Ben-Zeev has also been a clinical instructor at the University of Illinois,
the University of California, San Francisco, and the University of California, Davis.
